Water is our most precious resource! And in today’s environment, pure clean water is more critical than ever. Chlorine chemistry, whether it is sodium hypochlorite (bleach) or the most basic form of chlorine, is still one of the most used product chemistries worldwide for sanitizing and disinfection. Not only for our drinking water, but for a host of other sanitizing applications throughout industry, municipalities, food bacteria, and residential living.

Hill Brothers manufactures bleach at our Phoenix, AZ facility and supplies both bleach and packaged chlorine throughout Arizona and beyond. As core products for Hill Brothers since the 1960’s, count on us for quality bleach and chlorine products and services:

Sodium Hypochlorite

Sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) is used in various concentrations and applications, including water treatment, water purification, odor removal, and disinfection- as well as a bleaching agent in textile, detergents, and paper and pulp industries. Sodium hypochlorite is a greenish-yellow liquid with a mild chlorine odor commonly referred to as “bleach”. The solution is made from reacting chlorine with a sodium hydroxide solution. Hill Brothers’ liquid bleach is available in a standard concentration of 12.5% and 10% by weight sodium hypochlorite and is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 60.

Chlorine

Chlorine (Cl) is best known for its use in water treatment, providing clean drinking water to millions around the world. Furthermore, chlorine is directly or indirectly utilized in thousands of commercial compounds for numerous applications. For example, chlorine is used in 98% of the U.S. drinking water systems, 96% of crop- protection chemicals, and in 85% of pharmaceuticals- as well as in plastics, disinfectants, paper manufacturing, bleach, wastewater treatment, food processing, and many other industrial processes and chemicals. In its elemental form, chlorine is a greenish-yellow gas with an unmistakable penetrating and pungent odor. Chlorine is a highly reactive and unstable chemical that can, and will, quickly react with different substances to form other chemicals.
